In-Person Tutoring with Mr. Harrison Deane
Mr. Harrison Deane is available for in-person tutoring sessions on the South Shore and Boston Area. Mr. Deane provides expert math tutoring for all students at all levels including geometry, algebra, calculus, statistics, and AP courses. Mr. Deane has a personalized approach with students and works with them to build confidence, skills, and techniques to support their math acumen and success.
Mr. Deane currently works at Saint Mary of the Hills School in Milton, MA as the 4th and 5th grade Math Coach and 6th through 8th Grade Math Teacher. Mr. Deane grew up in Portland, CT, and attended Curry College where he earned a Bachelor’s in Community Education with a Math Education Minor and a concentration in Youth Sports and Recreation Management. At Curry College, Mr. Deane was inducted into Pi Lamba Theta, an education honors society, and the Alexander Graham Bell Society which promotes academic excellence. Additionally, Mr. Deane was also awarded the Excellence in math education award for his coursework and fieldwork and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Mr. Deane is currently pursuing a master's Program in Curriculum and Instruction and the Urban Catholic Teaching Corp Program.
Virtual Tutoring with Dr. Shawn Smith
Professional Math Tutor, Dr. Shawn Smith has supported middle and high school students in math and science for over 30 years at all levels including honors and AP.
Dr. Smith worked in a Learning Center of a public school for 10 years and at a private academy for 22 years. He has concurrently enjoyed providing private tutoring and enjoys the advantage that one-on-one instruction provides for individualized instruction. Dr. Smith graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Major in Chemistry from Barrington College, where he also received Academic All-American honors in basketball and baseball. Additionally, he holds graduate degrees in Biblical and Near Eastern studies from Harvard (M.T.S.) and Duke University (Ph.D.).
