Meet Dr T!
DR. KATRINA TAMVAKOLOGOS
(A.K.A Dr. T)
Born and raised in Milton, MA, Dr. Katrina Tamvakologos is a highly qualified and experienced teacher with a passion for education. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English from St. Lawrence University, a Master’s in Literacy Education Grades 5-12 from New York University, and a Doctorate in Educational Administration, Leadership, and Policy from Fordham University. She has taught in private, parochial, and public schools, and is a certified English teacher and reading specialist. She has also done reading intervention in schools and worked as a learning center instructor. In addition to her teaching duties, Dr. T has also been tutoring at all different levels. Her experience ranges from teaching English to people just moving to the country, teaching children to read, and preparing students for standardized tests. She has taught high school seniors for over a decade and has helped many students with college applications and preparing for the various steps involved. Katrina is a dedicated and caring educator who is committed to helping all students succeed.
Katrina notes that COVID has accentuated learning delays as students did not receive the same instruction, especially those in early elementary and kindergarten. This is because many students were forced to learn remotely during the pandemic, which can be a difficult and isolating experience for young children. As a result, many students may have fallen behind in their studies. Dr. T encourages families to bring in those students who may need that extra push and explains that tutoring does not mean that a child is struggling at school, but getting help will allow them to excel. She believes that all students have the capability to succeed, and she works diligently to provide them with the materials and support they need to reach their full potential.
